We measure ECT using the camp method (TAPPI test method T839) or the waxed edge method, T-811. Typically we use the clamp method rather than the older wax method. The test is intended to measure the compression strength of combined board used in corrugated boxes. Many corrugated boxes are specified in terms of ECT, expressed as lbs/inch. This is the newest way to specify corrugated boxes.
