| COEFFICIENT OF FRICTION - STATIC INCLINED PAGE |
Static COF is a measure of the force required to overcome the friction between two surfaces.
There are two measures of COF, Static and Kinetic. Static COF measures the force to start
the movement, Kinetic COF measures the force required to keep the surfaces in motion.
We measure Static COF using a slide angle tester. It has a bed that lifts at an increasing angle
until a sled starts to slide. The slide angle is used to determine the Static Coefficient of
Friction.
